Give yourself a quiet moment to renew.
Having one of those days? Need a quiet moment to reflect? When I need a sacred moment, I often turn to music. Music is such a powerful way to process through emotions and connect with the Divine. Another tool that helps me is to write my own prayers. And my absolute favorite thing to do? Combine the two for a reflection video.
Here are three of my reflection videos I want to share with you. They are simply the product of me at home on my laptop: producing, editing, and sorting through my thoughts and feelings. It's a part of my prayer life that I want to share with you. I hope they comfort you as much as they comfort me.
A Prayer for Help with Negativity
Feel like you're surrounded by negative situations or people? Or feeling too much negativity within yourself? It can help to take a moment and reflect on what you're truly feeling inside and why you're responding a certain way to a situation. I invite you to slow down and give yourself a little time to sort things out and start feeling a little more peaceful again.
Open Your Door to God's Love
One of my favorite scripture verses is from Matthew 6:6, "But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you." Picture an inner room within your being: A sacred place where you and God meet. A sacred place where you can feel God's love, comfort, and mercy. Now, ask yourself, are you ready to open the door to that room? Take a little time with this video and reflect on that question.
A Prayer for Trust
If only I could be more trusting of God! Sound familiar? That seems to be the common thread that comes up when I'm reflecting on why I'm angry, scared, or anxious about something. It always comes down to trusting God. Here's "A Prayer for Trust." You can also find it in my journal on page 165.
