I am excited to announce that I have a new book coming out in two weeks!

Awakening to the Sacred: An Invitation to Live in the Flow of Infinite Love

For the past twenty years, I have been sitting with people seeking a container of faith wide and deep enough to make sense of a world that carries both pain and beauty, isolation and community. I have been deeply touched and inspired by all the participants and facilitators in Sacred Circles and retreats that have opened my mind and heart in transformative and healing ways.

This book is the result of all those sacred conversations, combined with my own experiences of loss, joy, and mystery and seasoned by my formation in Benedictine and Mercy spirituality.

With this book, I explore the lifelong movement of awakening: noticing sacred moments, listening to what stirs within you, releasing old patterns, receiving the goodness and support God offers, and allowing that love to radiate into the world through your relationships and daily choices. When we do this, we are living in the flow of Infinite Love—receiving the love that is always present and becoming a vessel of that love in the world.

Depending on your season of life, living in that flow of love can mean life is manageable during extreme stress, meaningful in times of loss, and full of joy when connecting with soul friends and mentors who are walking with you on the journey.

Here are some excerpts on the flow of Infinite Love.

Imagine the Sacred as Infinite Love: the active, abundant love of God flowing in you and through you. Allow Infinite Love to be the loving presence of the Sacred as it is received and shared.

Visualize welcoming Infinite Love into your heart with an intentional inhale and a generous exhale as you remember that your breath carries your sacredness: your worth, dignity, beauty, and goodness.

Pause here, just as you are.

Breathe in, drawing Infinite Love into your heart space.

Receive it. Feel it. Sense it.

Let it become yours and then exhale.

As you inhale, allow your worth, dignity, beauty, and goodness to move lovingly through your body.

Receive them. Feel them. Sense them.

Take a slow exhale of Infinite Love, sending that love back to its Eternal Source.

Stay in this rhythm of inhaling and exhaling until you sense Infinite Love flowing in a circular pattern of mutual receptivity. You receive Infinite Love. You extend that love back to the Sacred.

This eternal flow of Infinite Love is within you right now, even if you are in the middle of an extremely stressful time and do not feel it. It is always as near to you as your breath.

This month, as you reflect and share in Sacred Circles, I invite you to stay with this visualization of Infinite Love as a reciprocal flow. You receive God’s love and you extend it back out into the world. This reality calls for your participation. It means God is not static. Faith cannot only be an intellectual exercise that stays in the head. Infinite Love is the movement of the Sacred calling out for you to dance with it. That means listening, relating, engaging, loving, and being present to the Sacred, yourself, and others in a new way. The amount you allow yourself to receive has so much to do with the amount you will be able to offer.

I am excited to invite you to live in the flow of Infinite Love in this new book. I’ll be sharing excerpts all month. Be sure to look out for its release on October 14th!

Reflect:

Sit with the above sentences: God is not static. Faith cannot only be an intellectual exercise that stays in the head. Infinite Love is the movement of the Sacred calling out for you to dance with it.

How are you being called to participate in God’s Infinite Love? Are you called to participate in a new way with yourself, God, or a loved one?
