Awakening to the Sacred: An Invitation to Live in the Flow of Infinite Love
This book is my hope and humble prayer that I can contribute to the world in a positive way by helping people meet one another at their soul level as we live in such a fractured time.
Here are a few excerpts:
When the Sacred in me meets the Sacred in you, we are participants in the cyclical flow of Infinite Love. This love is wider, deeper, and more powerful than any issues, titles, categories, and labels that so often divide us.
The next time you find it hard to agree with or understand someone, pause and remember their sacred story. This person has been shaped by:
Life experiences
Culture
Societal influences
Upbringing
Personality
Ancestral inheritance
Religious formation.
These influences are mixed and blended in a mysterious way that deserves reverence. Together, they form a sacred story. You do not have to know what the story holds. It is enough to acknowledge that there is one and that it carries:
joys you cannot see;
losses you cannot imagine;
inherited stories, both tender and painful;
questions still being asked;
hopes and dreams not so different from your own.
Each person’s sacred story affects how they listen and speak, fight and make peace, engage and withdraw, help and abandon, carry fear and practice love. Empathy comes when you remember how your sacred story has affected you as well.
Sometimes it is easy to recognize the Sacred in others, while at other times it can be extremely difficult. Awakening to the Sacred in others can be a long process, yet it is a worthy one—and perhaps exactly what our world needs most in this moment.
