What Happens in a Sacred Circle?

Pause. Step away from the busyness of your day and settle into a few moments of quiet and opening prayer.

Reflect. Listen to a short faith-inspired reflection on experiences such as life transitions, slowing down, courage, trust, hope, and noticing the Sacred in everyday life.

Listen. Experience holy listening—receiving another person's story with an open heart, without judgment, advice, or trying to fix anything.

Share. If you choose, speak from your own experience. You are always free to pass and simply listen.

Many participants tell us they are surprised to discover they aren't the only ones feeling what they feel. Sacred Circle offers a place to sort through some of the noise of life and notice where God may be present in the midst of it.

Will I Feel Comfortable?

We get it. You may be interested and seeking something like this yet you are wondering: Do I really want to join a group of strangers on Zoom and talk about my faith? That sounds a little vulnerable!

If that is what is going through your mind, we understand. Most of us were nervous before coming the first time too. We can tell you that providing a safe and comfortable place for you is our highest priority. If you are nervous about trying it out, please keep in mind:

You do not need to know the right words, have the answers, or be at a particular place in your faith journey.
We begin with a shared agreement that includes confidentiality, compassionate listening, and no discussion of politics. Rather than giving advice or offering solutions, we simply receive one another's sharing with care.
Trained facilitators guide each Sacred Circle through a gentle, structured sharing process designed to create a welcoming and respectful space.

Is There a Commitment?

There is no membership or ongoing commitment. Each Sacred Circle is a stand-alone gathering, and new participants are always welcome. Join us once to experience Sacred Circle for yourself, or return each month as part of the rhythm of your spiritual life.

Many participants read the month's reflection beforehand, but no preparation is required. Your facilitators will briefly introduce the reflection and explain the sharing process at every gathering.

You are always free to pass when it is your turn to share. We do ask participants to keep their cameras on so we can create a sense of presence and community together.

Sacred Circle has become a source of spiritual support and encouragement.
