Michelle, change “week” to “session”

  • A life transition can be your invitation to transformation. This can be difficult to hear during painful times, yet it is an opportunity to experience the inner freedom that growing closer to God and closer to your authentic self brings.

    During this opening week you will be introduced to the three phases of a life transition. Recognize the difference between a change and a transition in a way that may show you why you are feeling the way you feel.

  • Regardless of your situation, it is helpful to take intentional time to pause and honor what is going on inside of you. During this week, we create a safe space for you to reflect on the feelings that can come during a transition.

    Your practice this week will be led by psychologist Dr. Tameka Jackson Del Gavio, who will invite you to a spiritual practice that honors your feelings and thoughts during this time.

  • When an ending happens (or there are subtle hints there may be one), your first instinct may be to run or try to control and rush through this phase. Whether you have lost a loved one, a friendship, a job, or simply "the way things were," you are saying goodbye to someone or something. During this week, you are invited to reflect on letting go in a nurturing way.

    Your spiritual practice this week will be led by psychologist and Qigong instructor Jessica Del Pozo. She will offer a practice with body movement to help in the letting go process.

  • When you are in a liminal space, you have not completely let go of the old, yet you are not completely in the new. This is an awkward and confusing time because nothing feels permanent or even real yet. During this week we hope to create a safe space for you to reflect on the questions that come up during this time and bring them to God.

    Your practice this week is a meditative walk with your questions.

  • The restless nights. The confusing questions. The lack of motivation. It is easy to think you are never going to feel good again. And then finally. . . finally. . . a sense of hope emerges. You notice a spark of joy. During this week, you are invited to love yourself into a new beginning with the two greatest commandments (Luke 10:27) as your guide. Reflect on what steps you want to take to nurture your mind, body, and spirit.

    Your practice this week is a musical meditation with The Potter and the Clay (Jeremiah 18).

  • As you begin to feel lighter, you may notice a joyful feeling. Give yourself permission to embrace this gift. During a difficult life transition, joy may seem impossible to experience if you think of it as the same as happiness. Reflect on the type of joy from God that can help you live into your new beginning. Reflect on the steps that can help give you permission to embrace joy.

    Your practice this week is the invitation to practice simple joy as a gift from God.

  • “Finding God in the Center of the Unknown” is the subtitle to this retreat. Each week, you will be invited to do just that through reflections on: Finding God in people, forgiveness, prayer, and community.

What can I expect from this online retreat?

Flexible and Self-Paced

This online retreat is created to be flexible and meaningful for the person who wants to take this as a self-paced, private experience and for the person who wants to share in community over the course of six weeks.

Starting June 27, 2026 you will receive a weekly reflection every Saturday morning for you to reflect and share at your pace throughout the week.

You can choose to participate according to the six-week format or take it at the pace that works for you. You have access to the material for one year.

A Welcoming Sharing Space

A facilitator trained in spiritual direction will guide the written and virtual sharing for six weeks. Whether you share during the six weeks or several months later, we uphold strict confidentiality agreements. Your comments stay safe within the private retreat platform that cannot be accessed by people who are not registered.

Weekly Sharing on Zoom Option

Twice a week you have the option to share with others taking the retreat. Participants can come to one or all. Some read the material ahead of time and others attend the gathering on Zoom first as a way to prepare for their personal reading and reflection time.

Thursdays: 10AM-11 PT | 12PM-1 CT | 1PM-2 ET

Sundays: 1PM-2 PT | 3PM-4 CT | 4PM-5 ET

Logistics & Time Commitment

    • Weekly Emails: For six weeks, you will receive guided reflections and spiritual practices.

    • Self-Paced: Reflect, journal, and share in the written format at your own pace throughout the week.

    • Ongoing Access: You will have full access to the materials for one year. Revisit and reflect at your convenience.

    • Optional Sharing in Community: Share in written form at any time during the week. Join fellow retreat participants on Zoom every week for shared reflection and connection.

  • 20–60 minutes each week, if you choose to follow the six-week facilitated format.

  • Totally fine. It is self-paced and open for a year.

  • No. They are weekly, one hour, and optional.

  • Come to one or come to all.

  • Retreat, Reflect, Renew asks participants to agree to a pledge of confidentiality for the written and live portions. “Ruzuku,” which is the platform we use, says their platform is not a publicly indexed site, meaning your comments are private and not accessible to people using the internet who have not signed up for the retreat.

Facilitation & Support

  • The author, Christine Jurisich, and facilitator Ruba Powell are experienced spiritual directors with backgrounds in theology and pastoral ministry.

  • Yes. A post-retreat Zoom session and opportunities to join future retreats in the series.
